Commonly asked questions-
What is the Price of your Bernedoodles?
A: Our Bernedoodles are $3,500 no matter the gender, size or coat color of a puppy. We enjoy having multiple size and coat color options for our families to select from. We invest so much into our unique program-from pampered, well balanced health tested parents, early on training, and providing a hands-on in home upbringing cultivating the perfect family companion. This price point deters impulse puppy purchasing. Impulse puppy purchases, often lowly priced puppies, commonly result in puppies being neglected, abandoned, or re-homed multiple times in their life.
This is the price that we feel best represents the quality and worth of our furbabies.
Where are you located?
A: Smiths Creek Michigan.
Do you offer out of state transportation?
A: We offer to meet our out-of-state families at our nearest Major airport, DTW, where they can fly home with their furbaby in-cabin. Flight Nanny options are available for a fee.
Do you breed any other breeds?
A: We are Bernedoodle focused. We strongly believe that this is the ideal furbaby for families seeking an incomparable family companion.
Do you do temperament testing?
A: In addition to health, temperament is our top priority. The temperament of a furbaby is largely influenced by their parents inherent traits. That being said, we are very particular about the parents that we pair together to make sure that all of our furbabies have the traits that we think makes up the perfect family companion. The upbringing that we offer each of our furbabies during their early most formative months further enhances these traits.
Boy or girl, mini or standard, you cannot go wrong!
Are you a kennel?
A: We are not a kennel, and our furbabies are not a job that we clock out from to go home. We have renovated our home to properly raise newborn puppies, and to comfortably live with our own furbabies. Our furbabies and their puppies are integrated into our everyday life.
Boy vs Girl temperament?
A: As mentioned previously, the temperament of a furbaby is largely influenced by their parents inherent traits. In order to create a consistent temperament type we are strategic in selecting Males and Females to join our program/family that have similar personality types. Their babies, whether boys or girls, will inherit the same demeanor and mannerisms as their Mom and Dad. These babies will all be devoted to their family, highly affectionate, intelligent, and goofy.
Do you recommend adopting two furbabies at once/ Do Bernedoodles adapt well to other pets?
A: Due to our bernedoodles easy going and loving nature they are completely content to join their families as the solo pup, or with a new sibling(s). They just crave affection, largely from their humans but also from their fursiblings!
In regards to adopting two puppies at one time- we have found it to be just as easy to add two furbabies to our family/program at a time. They tend to mimic eachothers success, which makes training quick.
Adding two babies will double the yearly vet bills, food cost, and will initially require a bit more time invested into training- However, the reward is worth the effort as there is nothing quite like watching the furbabies you love build a bond!
About our program:
My bernedoodle furbabies make wonderful additions to all loving families, including those with young children, and those with emotional or physical disabilities. I am a solely focused Bernedoodle breeder. My priority is pairing parents that will create well balanced, loving family companions. Just like our own furbabies. My husband and I share our home with our puppies. From the day they are born they are able to be in the presence of humans, and our daily activities. I believe this is why our puppies are so easily transitioned into the routines and day to day lives of their new forever families. Due to their upbringing around a family my Bernedoodles are people pleasers, which means they are very easily trained, and loyal to their humans. They are also affectionate, intelligent, attentive, and sensitive to moods, These inherent traits are the makings of a wonderful therapy companion, service companion, or an incomparable family member. I work hard to help mold, and bring out the incredible inherent traits of each of my babies. I ensure that each furbaby is able to build a strong relationship with us before they go home. This is a crucial step in a furbabies early on development. My furbabies already have a clear love and understanding of the human-furbaby relationship when they finally get to meet their forever family! This will help the furbaby to quickly form a more profound bond with their new family. My Bernedoodle babies are my pride and joy- not only do I want their new families to be utterly in love, I also want the furbabies to be equipped to enjoy their life, and their new family, to the fullest extent and this starts with me! Bernedoodles are family members with strong attachments to human beings, and other furry family members. They are meant to live among their people. They are not meant to be living outside of the home, or left alone continuously for long periods of time.
The parents of our puppies are health tested and cleared for degenerative traits and diseases. Our puppies are put on a worming regimen, visit our veterinarian for a health examination, and receive their due vaccinations and preventatives before going home to their forever families. Each of my families will receive a signed copy of my terms and health guarantee contract, as well as their puppy’s health records to date. .
DEPOSIT & PAYMENT:
A nonrefundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve a position on any wait list. Deposits go towards the total price.
A waitlist position/available furbaby will not be held until after a deposit is received. If a waitlisted family does not see their ideal furbaby when it comes time for puppy selection, or the timing becomes inconvenient, they may pass and wait for a future litter. I do my very best to estimate the timing of our litters. However, heats and births do not always happen at the times in which they are predicted. I can only offer my best estimates. Anticipated litter arrivals are subject to change and may require a bit of flexibility in my waitlisted families timeline. I do not waitlist families based off of preferred coat colors, or genders.
Deposits can be placed via Venmo, Cash App., Zelle or PayPal. Please note that PayPal requires an additional 3% fee that would need to be added to your payment. Please contact me through my contact form for information on how to get on a waitlist.
In seeking the highest standards developmentally and behaviorally, we practice sound desensitization to ensure that our puppy’s are not fearful or anxious later on in life. We also practice early neurological stimulation with each of our puppies. to help improve the following:
• Cardio vascular performance.
• Higher tolerance to anxiety and stress.
• Stronger resistance to diseases
In addition to ENS, we focus on Early Scent Introduction. This practice begins when the puppies are 3 days old, until they are 16 days old. ESI has many benefits such as; boosting a furbabies interest in scents, ability to detect scents, and ability to follow scents This is most beneficial for owners who plan on having their furbaby trained to detect allergens.
We work with our pups to grow their level of trust through touch and positive interactions. We focus on increasing their comfort with regular grooming, such as nail clipping, bathing and brushing.
We also begin practice of basic commands such as ‘sit’ ‘come’ and ‘stay’ and will use their selected call names.
We use a pine pellet litter tray for potty training the puppies beginning at 3 weeks old. This helps the puppies learn the difference between a 'potty spot' and a living area. While our puppies are very bright and catch on quickly to these basic commands, it is imperative that their families continue training,, helping their puppy to mature into a well behaved member of the family. :)
SELECTING YOUR FURBABY & WEEKLY UPDATES:
Starting at 1 week of age I begin posting weekly photo shoots and videos on my available babies page of our newborn furbabies. Puppy selection begins at 3-4 weeks of age. Once you choose your forever furbaby their weekly updates will continue to be posted to my website. My weekly updates not only aid in puppy selection, but also help our families get to know their puppy, and be involved in their early most formative months. When selecting your puppy it is important to know that a puppy’s personality is highly influenced based off of their parents inherent traits, how much socializing they experience in their first months of life, training, daily life experiences with us, and life experiences with their new forever family after they go home. A puppy will continue maturing until 2 years of age. In short, it is not reliable to judge a puppies lifelong personality at a young age. However, underlying inherent demeanors will remain present, making it very important to select a breeder who prioritzes both health AND temperament. Like their parents, families can expect that all of our puppies will be extremely loving, devoted, clever, affectionate, intelligent and playful family companions. I do not breed parents who do not have these traits. I work tirelessly to enhance these traits to their full potential through strengthening the ' human to furbaby' relationship, and working on early on training. I can assure all of my families that each of our furbabies will make amazing, loving companions for their loving family.
In addition to my weekly photoshoots and videos being posted weekly to my website. updates can also be found on our Doodles-n-Company Instagram page and Facebook page.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest to watch our furbabies grow! :) I prefer to communicate through email as the email chains allow us to carry on lengthy conversations throughout your puppy's time with us, while also allowing families to refer back to our previous responses to questions and concerns that may have otherwise been forgotten. Please let me know if your email address changes.
My home is a safe place for puppies with very little immunity protection. You are welcome to come to our home to pick up your new furbaby when they are of age, and have received their due vaccination. We do not allow in home visitation with our young unvaccinated pups, as the health of our little ones is our top priority. Unvaccinated puppies are susceptible to deadly viruses such as parvo, and canine distemper. These two illnesses are dangerous as they can be picked up by unsuspecting humans, and spread to unvaccinated dogs. These viruses are virtually impossible to eliminate from a home as they can be spread to clothes, shoes, furniture, etc. That being said, it is not worth the risk to hold visit sessions before building immunity. This is something we take very seriously as it is our responsibility to protect the health of not only our own furbabies, but the health of other eager families young puppies. My adorable, in-depth weekly puppy videos, photoshoots, email updates, and optional facetime calls will help you to select your new addition, aid in your bonding process, and allow you to see what you are in for when your new baby arrives home! :)
DELIVERY & PICK UP:
After 8 weeks of age I begin allowing families to pick their babies up from our home in Smiths Creek, Michigan. If you are not located near our home, I offer to drive up to an hour away, no fee necessary. We also offer to hand deliver your furbaby to your home or location of choice for an additional traveling fee. This fee will be determined based on the location of our meeting.
If you are out of state and would like to fly in to pick your puppy up, we can meet you at the Detroit Metro airport where you and your furbaby can fly home together in cabin. You will be responsible for scheduling your flight, the cost of your plane ticket, and your puppies soft travel carrier. F1b minis can fly in cabin anytime without issue. If you are planning to fly in cabin with a standard furbaby, this must take place between 8-9 weeks of age, as standards quickly surpass the in cabin height restrictions. If your family is out of state and flying is not an option I can recommend a few reputable flight nanny service companies that offer to accompany your puppy to your nearest major airport for a travel fee.
I ask that the final payment for your furbaby be paid by the time your furbaby is 7 weeks old. I can accept payments via Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle and PayPal. Please note that PayPal does require a 3% tax fee, this will be the payees responsibility. Cash is also accepted upon our meeting. I do not accept any form of checks, or money orders. As your puppy approaches 7 weeks old I will begin sending a payment reminder with my weekly updates.
I have no problem keeping a furbaby in our home until their furever family is prepared to have them officially join the family. If you are unable to pick your puppy up before 10 weeks there will be a fee of $10 per day. If your puppy requires additional vaccinations during his or her extended time with me you will be responsible for those fees as well.
All puppies come with a Spay Neuter Contract. I require that Doodles-n-Company families send proof of procedure when it is completed. Each Doodles-n-Company puppy will come home with a signed 2 year health guarantee, and life time support from me. I will always be available for advice, and of course looking forward to pupdates. Please read through our entire contract before signing.
